3 John: Faithful Partnership

Explore faithful partnership through the practical work of welcoming, supporting and commending people who serve the truth.

Follow the elder's testimony about Gaius, the travelers he has helped, the obstructive conduct of Diotrephes and the commendation of Demetrius. Consider the contrast between generous support and the desire for prominence. The guide asks you to distinguish reports, judgments and intended actions before drawing conclusions about leadership, hospitality and shared service today.

Three passage-based sessions cover the whole letter, with original contextual notes and prompts for observation, interpretation, response and prayer. Two section reviews connect truth heard and seen with the shape of shared service. Generous ruled space supports questions, comparisons and practical reflection. Notes acknowledge differences in how Bible editions number the final greetings.

Designed for adult individual study and adaptable small-group use. Bring your own Bible and a pen; even a brief letter offers much to consider about the way a community treats people.
